My run this morning was a swift zoom! We flew. The snowy path and the cold air met us with open arms. My run's momentum moved me into writing this poem. These words below are also inspired by the love of running shared between me and someone I met on the road last month as we ran alone, together up a 4-mile mountain pass out of Williamstown, MA.
"Run, Girl"
She likes to fly.
The flock takes her away,
swift and sound.
Ground gets no caressing.
A flow carries the girl,
congruent with nature.
Alas, a string of moments she finds
with no apostrophes.
She seems like a soldier;
happy face, open heart.
No delay in seeing the world,
a temptress of the beautiful impossible.
She craves her flock
to take her forward,
blossoming authenticity.
"I'm here," she says.
