Katie! Oh my gosh- your journey thus far is so inspiring. Look at how far you've come already!! I have made the big move back to the Midwest (WI), and I would LOVE to meet up with you when you head thru Chicago. Let's make a plan for the end of June!! :) Good luck on the road ahead- I wish you beautiful routes, tightly-tied sneakers, and a strong pace as you power through to the finish line in CA. See you soon!

Love,
Fern's friend Lauren :)

Katie and Ellen, me and Ryann had a blast with you today! Thank you for letting her run, and me the OLD mom, ride in the van. It was an amazing experience and you are such wonderful people. We just wathed the videos on the main page and Ryann says to me " Hey I rode in that van today" LOL but I really believe she got more from it than that.. who knows what a 13 year old is thinking. ALSO thanx sooo much for helping her past her record of 13.1 miles.. she now has bragging rights to 13.2 miles! YAY! Was great to meet you..stay in touch. guthrie0521@verizon.net

I think you found a billion kilowatts of inspiration for your journey in the eyes and hearts of those young GOTR girls. Keep spreading your light and it will be reflected back to you 100 fold.

Funny how us parents can learn so much through our kids. How did I get so lucky to have you as a daughter?

Love Dad

Hey Katie! This is Eric (formerly) of Mount Victory Camp, St Croix USVI. I saw the piece on Yahoo! This is very exciting. Great job. Very proud of you. I hope the hike to Annaly was good training for this run!! Of course if you have a flat on that van you'll know how to change the tire!!! Watch for the Bloomsburg Exit in Pennsylvania, thats near my family farm. Also. when I am running a race and get tired, I sing Elvis songs in my head (or out loud!) Rock On! Eric
